MY ONTOLOGY AND THE ONTOLOGY
OF THE MODERN WORLD ORDER
Foundations of Holistic Thinking

The principal aim of the practicum — working through one's own ontology and foundations of integral thinking.

In the practicum we learn to form personal ontology, to construct connections between our ontology and the ontology of the contemporary world order (the fundamental structure of the modern world).

The thematic focus of the practicum — world orders, their structure, essential properties and influence upon the history of civilisations. As well as the role of elites in forming world orders.

Principal questions of the practicum:

  • What does it mean to possess one's own ontology?

  • Can one consciously construct one's personal ontology?

  • In what world do I live?

  • What for me exists, has significance and has meaning?

  • My being and being as whole

  • Being-in-the-world and ontological experience

  • Reason and intuition in personal existence

  • Reason, intuition and mystical experience

  • What is mystical experience?

  • Authentic and false understanding of mystical experience

  • Mystical experience in the intellectual tradition of the West

  • Personal ontology and experience of fulfilled existence

  • How in your life do rationality, intuition and mystical experiences combine?

  • The space of our life strategies and our mission in the world

Principal themes raised in the lecture:

  • History of civilisation as history of world orders

  • World orders: from Pax Romana to Pax Americana (analysis-presentation)

  • Peculiarities of our time: on the threshold of geopolitical revolution

  • Political realism VS political normativism

  • Logic of world orders: leadership of one system and system of "balance of powers"

  • Ontology of world orders

  • What will be the world order in the near future?

  • What instruments and possibilities do we have for analysis of world orders?

  • Why does understanding the structure of world order increase the subjectivity of individual and community?

What is the aim of this practicum?

  • Understanding foundations, causes and factors of leadership systems of specific world order

  • Skills to identify structure and principles of the leader-system, its manner of rule, character of its elites and aims of its leadership

  • Ability to recreate context for understanding and strategic analysis of subjectivity of community or specific system (political, cultural, religious, economic)

  • Formation of integral thinking skills: constructing one's mini-research, working with sources, presenting results of one's own research
